Gentil Garcons
Michael Lawrence is a director & photographer based in Los Angeles, working worldwide. His work stems from a diversity of interests, yet always is motivated by a quest for truth and a deeper understanding of the human perspective. In both his previous work as a photojournalist while living in Indonesia, and in his current explorations in long form film, Michael’s innate desire is to seek out the light in the darkness, and to give a voice to stories lesser known.

In advertising Michael has directed and photographed campaigns for some of the worlds leading brands - Nike, Reebok, Chevrolet, Powerade, ESPN, Google, Toyota, - with some of the most awarded agencies - Wieden & Kennedy, Venables Bell, Sid Lee, BBH, Ogilvy - while attempting to make time for the obscure, provocative, and interesting.

His work has garnered acclaim with a shortlist in Cannes, New Director nomination at Shots, and multiple awards at the Bessies. His images have been featured in The Atlantic, Fader, The NYTimes Magazine, Creativity, Communication Arts, Adweek, Pitchfork, and Indie Magazine.

Michael is joining KREE8 for representation in the U.S. hispanic market.
